I knew the internet was forever doomed to be another useless toy when you all dropped the ball on the whole telecommunications act thing. I found the spectacle of Bob Dole engaged in a worthless bid to prevent our republican congress and our democratic CEO from handing the fucking media moguls the digital spectrum on a silver platter to be absurd and instructive. They probably thought the telephone would be a great revolutionary tool also. Have you noticed that they're making less and less content for television? It's all about reruns and placement. All the new shows on prime time are recycling content at a baffling rate: they appear to be making about seven new shows per season. So what the fuck are they gonna do with a bunch of crystal clear digital channels, anyway? I guess there's always room for one more taco ad.
