The Deck of Woe: The Seven of Forks

I saw a picture once of a tropical flower that supported tiny ecosystems in the pools of water that formed at the junctures of its thick petals and leaves. This concept of little contained worlds, all occuring in the context of a single organism, captured my imagination. Sometimes now I will see these plants growing in botanical gardens or tropical displays. There's never anything interesting living in their foliage. Nevertheless I keep looking.
